I would dearly love to see any group photos from 1951 to 1955. I was in the Parallel class. I remember Julia Grady, Anne Gorman, Joan Youd,Margaret Linford etc

I was at the Convent from1951 to 58.Iremember long corridors lined with religious paintings and statues of The Virgin Mary fronted by vases of lilies and flickering, votive candles in red glass containers. My favourite place was the lovely, little chapel. There was a large, stained glass window donated by a Mr Stanislaus Baron.I often wondered who the man was and what happened to the window when the school was pulled down.I must admit I have never looked back with nostalgia to my time at the Convent. The rules were very strict and the nuns could be quite intimidating, especially Sister Marie Therese.the headmistress, whose frown could turn my knees to jelly.
