Hi Dave, we had Clarence for music, but try as I might I can't remember one thing we did in a music lesson????? We didn't learn to play an instrument or learn anything on the history of composers etc. WHAT did we do?????????

I remember that song very well but like Ron I cannot remember do anything constructive in music with Clarence Thorpe.

Hang on - I distinctly remember Clarence telling us that the 1st line of the 2nd verse was not - "When workshop and lavatory engage our lives at last"

The school song was a bit "avant garde" for its day but it did express the philosophy of the school. The one thing that I learned from Clarence Thorpe was how to read music.
In many ways he was a real gentleman but som of the class used to wind him up.
