oH HOW LOVELY TO SEE THIS PHOTO, THATS ME IN THE CENTRE,LINDA PRITCHARD (AS WAS)(LOOKS LIKE I HAVE MY HAND IN A BOWL,ALSO IN THE PHOTO, IS SYLVIA DERMOTT,RIGHT EDITH DRAPER,LEFT, SHEILA AND MARGARET MCALLISTER,(TWINS),FAR LEFT AT THE BACKLILIAN ROBINSON BEHIND ME JUST VISIBLE,THE REST I M AFRAID I CANT REMEMBER NAMES, THERE WAS A JEAN BEARD,CAROLE BURNS(I THINK),PAT BROWN,AND OTHERS WHOSE NAMES I HAVE FORGOTTEN BUT STILL REMEMBER THEM . I REMEMBER IT WAS AHOY DAY, MADE EVEN HOTTER WITH ALL THE OVENS AND KNEADING WE DID.

Oh remember domestic science in that room. Those wooden top tables had to be scrubbed after use. The apron and hair band we made in our first year and lasted till our 4th year. Made of off white calico edged in a coloured check material denoting the ‘house team’ you were in.

One of first cookery lessons..making breakfast, poached eggs on toast, then bacon eggs, you progressed to cakes, stews puddings and finally Christmas cake and puddings and bread. None of the open a packet stuff!
