I love this photo, the expressions on the children’s faces, but it made me think. 1920-1922 make sit 102 to 104 years old, the kids look to me to be around ten, so they would be 112 to 114 years old now, which I am guessing means all dead. I wonder how their lives went?
Children of the great generation. Lives marred by the 1st WW and then living and serving in the next. Hard childhoods and their youth snatched away from them in one way or another.
Brilliant photo.
What a brilliant photo,I just hope they all had happy enough lives..as Veronica says, living through the atrocities of the 1st WW then probably serving in the next..God love them all.
Yes Maureen , I too hope they had good lives with some happiness despite the wars . Pity we dont have some names but lovely to see their faces.
The lad at the top left of the photo with the 6 children on could be from today,he looks timeless.x
I joined St Catharines in January of 1950 when we moved to Birkett Bank, I was 9 years of age. I vividly remember some of the teachers returning from a funeral they had attended. It was mentioned it was the funeral of the ex-headteacher Mr Steel, who I did not know because he’d retired just 2 or 3 years earlier. He is on the photo, extreme right.
most of my family on parish clerks online. marriages .births and burials also on roll of honour at st catherine's church .great photo
At the time of this photo the school was already 80+ years old, the Church was completed a few years later.
I was at the school from 1937-43 Mr Steel was the Headmaster
I doubt if I have ever been happier than in those days
