Holgate was my first teaching post in 1969. The head was Jim Ward and the teacher who ‘ mentored’ me was Margaret Guest. Does anyone from that era remember their junior school days in my class?

I showed this photo to my mate Geoff Barlow he said he never attended Holgate School and the picture is from his time at Farmoor infants School in Church Street Orrell , Holgate School was in Moore Road about half a mile away.

I went to Holgate Infant and Primary Schools. I think I started in 1971, the head teacher was Mr Ward and Deputy Head Mrs Guest, I think she went on to become Head teacher.
