This is the back of the clock showing the electric mechanism. Unfortunately it is missing the 2 pin connecting plug. Been searching all afternoon on the internet but it appears that the plug is near impossible to find. So it will have to have some modification to get it connected to the electric supply . Anyone any suggestions?

A standard plug? Or a two-pin plug into a shaver socket? Or a hard-wired fused spur?

Ron, get one of these. Put the socket onto a 3 core flex from an ordinary plug. Put the plug onto the clock's cable, as close as is practicable.
Hey presto.

(I might even have a couple of these in my hoard of 'things'!) (I might even have a couple of two-pin!!)

Thanks James, managed to get it working just hard wired it by using two crimped connectors to try it out and will get a 2 pin connector tomorrow to do a proper job<g> At first it wouldn't start Then I remembered this afternoon whilst searching the net I saw that some early clocks have to be started by using the hand turning knob.. Appears it's a very early SMITHS ELECTRIC clock, and probably a bespoke model?
