I can see Mary in your mum John. Hope you are both well.
I remember Mr McDermot always had a few words to say about the war before he began a lesson. This was in 1956; I found it really interesting and would have liked to hear more. At least he got our attention.
I didn't attend St Patrick's but I remember him refereeing us in schoolboy rugby on a few occasions, twice on the hallowed turf of Central Park.
Well bulled shoes/boots. Smart attire. Stand by your beds.
First time I've seen him wearing a Neck Tie, even when he was retired and living at Chelmsford Mews and going to the local shops he would be wearing a Bow Tie.
