Just come across this old photo. It's strange that I can't remember what I did yesterday but I think I can recall nearly all the names of people I haven't seen for over 50 years.
Any corrections welcome or fill in the blanks.

Sitting - Billy West & Eunice Rosule

I think the teacher was Mrs Garrimgton and she lived in 1st house on right,if memory serves me well on path going to Great Acre

I can vaguely remember a teacher living where you describe. That is the way we walked to school every morning, unless we nipped through the woodyard!
I think it is Robert Grindley, first on the back row next to Derek Green.

Barry - yes of course it is!

I think the Norman in this picture on the next to the back row is me (not Norman Pendlebury). I was definitely in this class and an still good friends with Carol Round. In fact she showed me the picture yesterday. Don't remember the teacher though. Am I right in saying that the picture was taken in one of the bottom school yards in front of the river Douglas?

Thanks for that Norman. Yes it was taken at the bottom of the playground with the old Spion Kop at Central Park in the background.

Love this photo,

Love this photo, brings back memories. I think you have done well to remember all those names. The girl next to Glynis Jones is Ellen Stevens and I thought the teacher was Miss or Mrs Henderson but she may have changed her name when she got married. Remember all these faces but have lived in Essex for the last 39 years so have lost touch with anyone from Wigan.

Brenda Bayliss gave me a copy of this picture and even after all these years we still meet up for coffee. As stated by Norman Bramwell, we are still great friends. Keep saying I'll organise a reunion!

Thanks Gwen, good to hear from you - believe it or not I thought her name was Stevens. As I said above I am amazed at how I can remember stuff from 50's & 60's but ask me what I did last week and I'm stumped.
Good to hear from you also Carol, hope you and Brenda are keeping well - a reunion would be great!

I didn't go to St George's but remember Gwen Lambert living in Weldon Grove Whelley just round the corner from me in Bradshaw St. Also seen Susan Norman occasionally in Wigan last year and if memory serves I used to play rugby with Paul Fairhurst for 'Wigan RL Supporters' about 40 years ago!

That's right Alan. I think we had two seasons playing teams in the Manchester Sunday league 1967 / 68 and played all our games away because we had no pitch although we did managed to get Wigan RL to buy us our kit.

Aargh Paul! 50 years ago! Bumped into a few of the old team last year in the Brocket: John Aspinall, Dave Bibby & Dave 'Baz' Parkinson.
