That is some photo, Ron.

I remember that hall like I was in it yesterday rather than 64 years ago as many others do.

Attended the school from '52 to '57 ( I think) and remember this hall very well.It also served as the Scout Hall as well--- 11th Wigan (St.John's).If memory serves, a few dramatic plays were performed on the stage as well.

I can't remember the dates, but the scouts certainly did meet in the hall.Remember playing British Bulldog there.
A few names I recall are Paul Ledson, Alan Melling, David Daggers.
Also recall being on church service ( at St.Johns church )every month or so when we would go around the congregation with the collection plate.
Ended up as patrol leader.

This was our school dinner hall in the fifties. The dinner ladies would set up tables there and we would line up for our dinner which would arrive in a van in aluminium trays, hot.The ladies would serve it up to us and I always loved the salad made up of cubes of beetroot, cold peas and baked beans. Also the fish was wonderful. It seemed to be baked in water or milk and I always thought the flavour was great. We complained to the dinner ladies that the lemon meringue tasted like sick. They told us off in no uncertain words. We always stirred the jam into our rice pudding and also got told off for doing that. What are your memories?

I was in the cubs/scouts from 1966 ish and we used the Church hall opposite the Methodist Church. Then we moved into a scout hut behind the Jehovah's Witness Hall.
