Hi Roy, if that definitely is Adrian Nowell (front row 4) the photo must have been earlier than 1955 because he was born in 1942 and must have gone to Chorley Grammar in 1953 by my reckoning.

Comment by: Roy on 12th November 2014 at 17:38

Yes it is Peter.

I remember John Bentham died in 1984, he was going to work at Leyland Motors and he died while driving his car on Preston Rd.

Well done Keith, we needed someone from the photo to get involved, as i said i knew most faces but couldn't put names to them, i thought it was John Cousins but thought he was older than you, also Keith Harrison i thought it was him but didn't realise he went to SGS. Where are you living these days Keith and what year was the photo?

Comment by: Roy on 15th November 2014 at 14:08

Correct Keith, but he worked on maintenance at Carrington and Dewhurst in Eccleston.I know the lads face next to G Knight as i'm sure you do, i'll ask around
Hi John, how are you, ready for the new season? I see J/G F is retiring from the cloth. Alan lad, are you not thinking of Alan Kevill or one of his family?

Comment by: John Kev on 15th November 2014 at 14:17

-Alan lad, No not me!

Comment by: Keith Hagan on 15th November 2014 at 15:16

Hello Roy, I have lived in Appley Bridge for nearly 40 years, are you still a Standisher? Keith Harrison lived just round the corner but moved to Shevington a few years ago.Nice to hear from you

Comment by: Keith Hagan on 15th November 2014 at 15:25

Forgot to mention the year Roy, my mother put my age on the back i was 11 then so it would be 1953.

Comment by: Roy on 15th November 2014 at 20:22

Hi again Keith, i lived in Shevington for 31 years, 20 years on Miles Lane, back in Standish since 2000.

Comment by: John Kev on 17th November 2014 at 16:43

Hello Roy, hope you're well and still watching Wigan like me. Thanks for that info. I'll ring him and perhaps now we can arrange that meet-up we talked about (5 years ago now!)

Comment by: Roy on 21st November 2014 at 12:51

Yes John i am both well AND watching Wigan, not to sure how you can be both those things at the moment.Just booked 'the lads' week in Northern Spain to coincide with the Catalans game. Keith, nothing further re the unkown lad, but i'll carry on trying.

Hi Roy, Just thought of a name for the unknown lad, Michael Jackson. He lived in Rectory Lane near the old nursery,he had an older brother David.

Comment by: Roy on 30th November 2014 at 17:45

Thanks Keith, well done, i knew David, he was/is the same age as me and was in the same class, he is on a photo i uploaded on 'Schools SGS', the 1948/49 one. I dont know whether you have seen it or not
