This is the photo that I have been waiting for I was hoping that someone would put something on with me on. I am seventh from the left front row. I am not surprised you dont name the Hughes twins nobody knew them apart even the teachers and I think they played it to their advantage. Thanks for putting this photo on its made my day. Are you on the photo?
Brian Holden
I remember John Don Duncan from Pemberton Senior, he was always getting mentioned in the head teachers dispatches in the morning assemblies, I think the head just liked to see how fast he could say his name without getting tongue tied.
I heard that he had a lot to do with Pemberton Old Brass Band too.
Yes Brian, I am on the photo. I am Ann Beard. I bet we all look a bit different now. Mrs. Millard or Miss Burns as she was, was my favourite teacher. School was much stricter then but I don't think it did us any harm. I rembember the visit to the Lakes and York. It was Kathleen Bone who broke her arm whilst we were climbing Loughrigg Fell.
Hi, Ann I was in this class but don't seem to be on the photograph, I thought I might be sat to the left of Brian Holden but my family, don't think it is me. The lad 5th from left on front row is Keith Ashall. I remember you Ann, hope you are well. Hello again Brian long time no speak, hope you are ok.
Hello Geoff. I remember you too. I cannot find you on the photograph either. We had some good times at Pem. Primary. It was a great school and I missed it when we all left. I went onto the Wigan Girls' High School along with Sandra Atherton, Carol Lucas, Kathleen Bone, Judith Osborne & Lynne Broxton. Our first year was at the huts in Brindley Street, Pemberton and once a week we would walk down to Pem. Primary to play games as we had no facilities. We had to get changed in the infants cloakroom. I had forgotten about the smaller toilets that were in there. I used to love going back every week but when we went into the second year we had to go to the main building in Wigan Lane. What a huge difference.
Hi Ann, nice to hear from you, yes Pemberton Primary was a good school, I often wondered what happened to everyone in the class, did you keep in touch with any of the girls you went to the High School with?
Hello Geoff. I kept in touch with Sandra Atherton after leaving school but the last six or seven years or so it has been just Christmas cards. I have not seen any one else.
Gibson on front row I think he is my brother John I am Jennifer HARDMAN ne Gibson it would be great to hear from anyone who knew me
Nice to see this picture. I remember you all so well. This would have been Infant 2 with Dorothy Pedder and I was still Miss Burns.
I would love to meet up and have a reunion sometime soon

On the second row, I think you've missed out Kathleen Bone, sitting between Judith Osborne and Lynn Broxton.
Ann Morgan, are you perhaps my long-ago pen pal? I was Ann Haugerud back then; I lived (still do) in Minnesota, USA. So many thanks to a former Wigan resident who helped me find this!
Hello Ann Haugerud. Yes I am your pen friend from long ago. Hope your are well
So sad to hear that some of my classmates have died. I hope that the rest of you are in fine fettle. I don’t ever remember liking school 😩
