Jimmy, If I had to guess where you were on the photograph, I would say, fourth from the left, back row.

Comment by: Jimmy on 9th August 2014 at 00:36

Albert, that is Dave Holland from Repton Ave Spring View.I am first on left middle row next to Tommy Medows.

Hi Jimmy. I can see the Edwards likeness. Smartly turned out. I took papers down Repton Avenue, My first street of delivery, from Tatum's paper shop. Didn't you have a relative who served in the R.A.F.,during the war. He was an air gunner? I know his surname is/was Edwards. My dad knew him well. I met him a couple of times. Have you a relative named Margaret? I'm sure she went to St Mary's school, the same time that I did.

Great pictures Jimmy. I had a mate called Kevin Weaver who, I think, went to Spring View school. Can you put any names to the lads in any of these three photos?

Jimmy. Having thought about it. It is highly likely that it was your dad that I referred to, (the airman). it would have been about, 1941/1942. He was probably on leave from. R.A.F. training, before being posted out to the far east. One evening My dad, and I, and the airman, whom I believe to be your dad, we all walked home together, to Spring View, probably from the Regal Cinema, in Lower Ince.

Albert, could be right there, think it was about 1940/1when Dad joined up he was 19/20 years old.Have got photos of Dad in Burma will get them on here.Regal Lower Ince spent loads of Saturday Mornings in there.

Comment by: Albert. on 12th August 2014 at 09:34

Jimmy. They would have conscripted your dad in 1941, when he was eighteen, if as you say he was born in 1923.

Comment by: Bill on 12th August 2014 at 16:04

The lad on the back row left looks like Ken Green.

Comment by: Jimmy. on 13th August 2014 at 00:47

Bill, long time since I've seen him but I think your right.

Comment by: Albert. on 14th August 2014 at 10:41

Jimmy. Relating back to the Regal. They finished building it, just before the outbreak of war, in 1939. It was a great asset to the local community.
