I took this photograph of my fiends at Woodfield Primary School in the 50's. The lady is an exchange student called Miss Chua Kim Gyam. On her left is Thurston Hannon. It's the only picture I have found which shows the old school in the background.

I wonder is Miss Chua is still alive? Her name sounds like she is from Malaysia or Singapore...do you know?

Is that John Strafford on her right?

Her name sounds Welch to me.

What a fantastic Building, shame its gone.

This was before my time, but I remember the old house as it was part of the school when I was there. On each side of the house, there was a one storey high (modern) building. These buildings could have been built around 1960.
I have a school year photograph.

I am sure that there were many boys named Ian at Woodfield at that time, I was just wondering if your father might have been my cousin?

Colin, it would certainly be a small World, as we have been in many friendly discussions about Wigan via WW and this is the only time that family connection has been mentioned.
Naturally, it would be interesting and a pleasure to find out that we are related.
But, our surnames are different.

Thanks Ian, protocol dictates never to mention other people names unless previously posted, permission given or perhaps deceased.
However my cousins sons surname was Green.

Colin, I'm sorry to say that, to the best of my knowledge, I have no relatives with the name Green.
But, possibly, some members of your family know members of my family as we have discussed areas of Wigan which we know well and have connection to.
