I'm Brian Pyplacz. I recently found this old school photo. I think this was taken in 1965 and in year 2. I only attended the school for one year and one term. leaving the area at Christmas 1965. I'm on the back row, the last on the right. I can remember some of the pupils, Sandra Foster, Jacqueline Gartside, Rodney Raines, and Roger Harris but that's all. I have very happy memories of the short time I was there.

I went to HAGS from Ince Central School in 1964 with Roger Harris and Stephen Reeves. I can see Stephen, (4th from left, back row), but which one is Roger? I remember Sandra Foster and a few more faces are familiar. Thanks for posting.

I see my brother Stephen Richards 4th from the right on the back row.

I thought that was Stephen Reeves but am happy to stand corrected.

Irene. If you are on this photograph, where are you positioned?

Comment by: irene roberts on 30th May 2013 at 22:12

I'm not on it, Albert. We were put into classes in our first year and then, depending on our ability, were put into "a", "b" and "c" streams in our second year. If you go into "schools", then scroll down to Hindley and Abram Grammar School, I am on some pics there. I am also on some in Ince Central. Which school did YOU attend, Albert?

Have gone into "work" then scrolled down to "police" but can't find you, Albert! I am not very bright.....please explain again!

Irene. Click onto work,as you said you have done, scroll dqwn to police. Along the bottom of the page you will see, I think there only 1,2, and 3. numbered pages, click onto 2. I am showing three young females the working of a combination safe. Walking in Ormskirk Road, and in a police house. They are all at the bottom of the page.

Found it, Albert. What an attractive lady. You've certainly got good looks in your family!

Irene I wrote this comment previously, but I must not have put in the code number. (Senile Decay). I was a bit flummoxed, with too many lefts, plus two of you with same name.Where are you in relation to Mr Atkinson. You are all very smart in your school uniforms, and very clean looking. With our school only being a secondary boys' school, we just attended school in our every day clothes. Whether, or not, clothing coupons had anything to do with it, I do not know. Teachers' were still being discharged from war service, in 1946/47. I think I was taught more educationally, whilst serving in the R.A.F.

Hello Albert. On the photo with Mr. Atkinson I am on the mlddle row, far right. I was actually too small in height to be on that row and should have been seated on the front row but I was wearing white ankle-socks and would have spoiled the line-up!

Comment by: Albert. on 5th June 2013 at 20:44

Thank you Irene, I've found you. It is good, to have photographs of your school days.
