Hi Ed (if you are reading this - there doesn't seem to have been any comments for a long time. Not (necessarily) the thickos of the first year as some have suggested, as the class was allocated alphabetically in the first year hence all the O,P,R,S,T,W,and Y's. I've only got a few names for our class, they are Back row - Trevor Williams Frank Ryding, ???Walford?, ???Savage? Dan Walker. Middle row - Ed Prytherch, Eric Stanier ?Stuart Smith? ??Woods?, Brian Yates, ?Skidmore?. Front row - Alan (Chuff) Roughley, Barry Owen, ??Wilding?, Noddy Leigh. Thanks for the comments. It is Bob Savage who is next to the right end on the back row and I think Terry (not Dan) Walker on the end. I think that the boy on the right end of the front row is Tommy Parkinson. I also think that the 4th in from the right of the front row was the boy who was tragically killed when a bus reversed over him. His name may have been Unsworth. The others sound right.

I wasn't in this class, but was in later classes with about one third of the boys in this photo. I remember Ed's name and think he was in my class at a later date. Unfortunately, I can't come up with any more names, as you have covered most of the ones I know, but the boys name who was knocked down by the bus was Boardman.wuk

I moved to the States in 1982 but I visit my brothers and friends in England every couple of years. I always have a night out in Wigan with Dan Locker and others.
