Really interesting photo,Fred,it reminds me of ST Thomas's Caroline St where one large hall could quickly be converted to 4 classrooms with sliding glass panels.They knew how to make useful things then.

You can see a bit of the curtain rail used to make the classroom totally separate from the adjoining rom.

Yes, MaggieK I can confirm, St Catharine's, built 1834, was exactly the same.
