Stayed there myself, with the village school in 1967, Kathleen.
There appear to be huts on the site still (Google Earth).
stayed at staithes in 1953 i recall but not certain ..i know we used the wooden huts as holiday digs ..i reckon they were used as barracks for the searchlight crew in w w 2 ..
