Teacher on right is the Headmaster Mr Heyes known as owd Block and u didn't want to cross him or else.Can'tremember the other teacher,recognise some of the lads but no names at present.

I think the teacher on left could be Mr Yates. Are teacher ..

It does look like Mr Yates on the left.His nickname was Rowdy after a cowboy on the telly.It might have been Clint Eastwood and I think the programme was Rawhide.

Yep... that is definitely Mr Yates. As well as art, he also took for PE and History, and he was a damned fine history teacher... I read a lot of history because of him, he made the subject exciting.

Lad on the second row second from left is my cousin Roy Pennington.

are you sure of the 1964 date of this photo, l went to springview school from moss lane in 1964, the school then was a mixed school. Mr yates was then geography teacher, Mr bithell was the art teacher.Owd block was headmaster, also mr tatum was science teacher.

Sorry to mislead you Albert the photo was the next one from 1964 , yes moss lane was at spring view from august 1964, do you remember the wynn brothers.

Yes I do remember Eddie and tony Wynn, I played football with them. For platt bridge boys/platt bridge youth club, with Ian eatock. They lived across the way from what is now Iceland at platt bridge yrs ago.

Jimmy, how are you & your Barrie doing .long time since seeing each other. Our Billy in Platt Waz ,our Keith still in OZ .Me & my wife ( Betty ) going over next year for a couple of months our youngest son in Sydney. Got photos of our 2nd,3rd & 4th years at Spring View daughter said she will put them on this site for me ( still waiting ) .All the best to you both & your family's.

The teacher is Mr Yates known to some of us as black rod. Black rod because his cane was a bamboo rod with black tape so it would not split when he hit you. I remember getting caned by him for saying, when he asked who wanted to play football, foot off. We were a rugby school. I did not intend it to sound like a swear word.

Does anyone know what happened to mr Bithell he was art teacher when I was there 1964 to1966 I think he moved to teach at rose bridge school higher ince in early 1970 s great artist and lovely man helped teach me to draw and paint a hobby I still do to this day

I did my 2nd teaching practice at Spring View. I also went with a group camping at Penmaenmawr, whit week 1965 with Bill Bithell - a lovely man. Happy memories of my times there.
