The photo for 'Late 1940's' shows my uncle, Terry Wignall, now sadly passed away. My dad, Jack (John Henry) is his eldest brother born in 1927. He says that this photo from the 1930s is also St Cuthberts. My dad is front row, L-R 4th. My uncle Frank, born exactly one year after my dad is front row, L-R 9th. Can anyone confirm this is St Cuthberts?

I went to St Cuthbert's (started in 1963). The classrooms were arranged in an L shape. I think the buildings were made of wood. As you walked in from Elmsmere road, there was a stand alone classroom - 'the baby class' (1st year)to the right, then on the other side of the entrance was a line of 4(?) classrooms then a right angle turn and a couple of other classrooms. Along the playgound side of the classrooms was the Verandah, which is what you can see in the background. If I remember rightly the headmistresses office was upstairs -I think she was Miss Boardman. In the top corner of the verandah was a Statue of the Virgin Mary, I remember she was stood on a very large bunch of black shiney grapes.
