At last, a small section of a photograph showing the 'house' shields on the stained glass windows which were sadly lost when the building was demolished.

I was at the convent from 1949 to 1954 and have mixed feelings about it, grateful for the chance of a grammar school education but I think I was too much of a free spirit to accept all the discipline. I remember the beautiful stained glass windows in the chapel and wonder what happenned to them. Some happy memories though.

The stained glass windows from the Chapel are in storage at St John's Church. It is quite difficult to see them as you would need to ask permission because they are hidden away in a small room just off the church.

I would love to see the windows again (and photograph them. Maybe we could organise a group to see them?

My mum Rita Riley (Sullivan as she was then) designed the stained glass windows pictured here.
