I recognise Oliver left middle row and maybe Greenwood right front row.Does anyone know where Mr Pegg went after his Linacre days,he was a good teacher.

Hi Dave, Mr Pegg was one of the best .. I have never heard anyone who went to the TLS say anything bad about the guy. I think he moved away from the area when he left the school? When he taught me German I was TOP of the class in German.(still got my report book in which he wrote "A LIKEABLE BOY WHO WORKS WELL. It's the best report I got in 5 years L.O.L.) When he left I went downhill..<g> But in saying that the lessons did get harder.When we started learning the NOMIANATIVE GENATIVE ACCUSATIVE DATIVE cases??? I didn't know what they meant in English never mind German. I still don't know what they mean now???? A few years ago, I did a German night school course and learned more in 9 months, 2 hours a week, than I did in 3 years at school.

Mr Pegg was one of the first teachers I had who was prepared to discuss the war.I rememember him saying that as a military medic he participated in reports concerning concentration camps when evidence was being prepared for war trials.To be honest I have rarely used my knowledge of the German language in 55 years but I do remember helping an old German gent at the airport.He was confused and spoke no English.I said "Bitte warten Sie hier bis funfzehn minuten nach vier". He began to weep.Is my German so bad?.Thanks for the information on Mr Pegg,he was a one off.
