Perhaps I'm missing something here but the site is supposed to be for old photos and yet these were taken this year. Have they found their way on to the wrong site?

I think you are missing something George. Wigan World is a forum for all things Wigan related - that is why there is the old photograph section and the new photograph section. People are taking photos all the time for posterity, soon theses places will be gone forever and people are having the foresight to record these moments in time!

Thank you russ. If you read the brief for this section of wiganworld it states, "Old photographs wanted to build up an online collection", and "it would be good to build up a busy, online archive of old photos."
In the section "More photos of Wigan" there is a section labelled "New Gallery", I would have thought, having regard to the brief for the Album, that these recent photos, would be a more appropriate section to place them.

George is correct
Old photographs wanted to build up an online collection. Anything to do with Wigan, including walking days, street parties, school class photographs, streets, etc.

Please help, everyone has a photo album - it would be good to build up a busy, online archive of old photos.

Upload your old photos, its easy!
Why did my photo not appear?

If you click on the 'Why did my photo not appear' you will be given a list of reasons, one of which is 'Your photo is too recent, old photo's only'

Spot on Stan. I think someone has got things mixed up. A photograph of something old doesn't make it an old photograph.

No problem George thanks for your reply, I know exactly what you mean, perhaps they have been placed in the wrong section of the site :)
