In 1976 St. Catharine’s Junior School was begun to be demolished when the new school was constructed.

So pleased you captured this lovely old building before its ultimate demise - what a waste - surely renovation could have been an option.

I was in the last year of this buildings life,
We all had to go to St. Georges for some time until the new school was finished, which I also attended.
A time capsule bottle was found in the foundations, with a newspaper dating from when the school was built.
I had my photo taken with the bottle for the local news paper, but have never managed to find a record of it anywhere.
