1951 was the year I started at H.A.G.S.I believe this to be one of the 2nd year classes.
Back Row 3rd from left is Frank Binks. ( Irene you may remember his Grandfather Jack Binks and Father Frank Binks both worked in Dewhursts butchers shop on Manchester Road in Ince)
Back Row 4th from left is Eric Green.
Middle Row 3rd from left is Betty Westhead.
The teacher is Mrs Holmes.
I recognise many other faces but just can't remember their names.

Hello Evelyn. I remember the shop but not the people who worked there. My Mother-in-law died recently and this was among the photos she had.

Evelyn, do you still get Past Forward? In the latest issue, which I have received today, there is a lady on the letters page from New Zealand who attended HAGS from 1951-1954. Her maiden name was Margaret Churnside and she would like to hear from anyone who was at the school at that time. Just thought it might be of interest to you. Irene.

I think the boy sitting at the front on the right is my brother John Hughes

I think this was form 4B, 2nd year, I am at the end on the left, next to Eric Darwin, I think his twin sister is just in front of him, Jack Binks then the next I recall is Wykes with the light jacket. Front row boys from right John Hughes, Eric Draper then Ken Moss. The only girls I remember are Margaret Rothwell, end left and Eileen Sudell 4th from right, we were at St Peters school together and joined HAGS the same day.

I remember most of the faces but can't put names to them all.Front row from left
