"Unknown" on the front row is me, Roy Millett. I was on teaching practice at The Grammar School from January to April 1968.

Thankyou Mr Millet.That is why I find this such a great site. People are able to help with the missing information. If You are able to name any others, that would be great.

I remember most of these still see Frank Taylor he only lives round the corner. Paddy Gore was my from teacher when I started in 1968.

I remember that game very well, it was a cold miserable grey day at Robin Park. Much abuse thrown at the Staff, but highly entertaining with George Merriman refereeing. Still see Frank Taylor at Wigan Subscription Bowling Club. Who remembers Jackie Brown (or Jackie Palo as I seem to remember him being called). Taught Physics, or "Fisicks"as I once put on the front cover of my homework book, only to have it spelt out properly for me on my a**e by him wielding a size 10 gym shoe ! You could pay a fortune for that these days !!!!

Fun looking at these photos. Mr Merriman was a weirdo. He used to bring singers for the MIXED[oh horrors! Auntie Gladys was so shocked] madrigal group during the lunch hour at the short-lived Whitley High. He truly was a nut but we actually were pretty good.
