Them poor kids, how miserable do they look? They must have been under strict orders not to smile!
i was just thinking that they werent asked to say cheese
It does make you wonder how many of their father's were involved in WW1
my wife would fit right in with a face like that
Ooops my maths has let me down again. He was born in 1905 and I think he looks about eight years old (do you agree?) so I should have said 1913.
Perhaps they hadn't been photographed before and didn't know what to expect!
Most of them look poor little souls.
They seem to have an annual open day at Park Lane Unitarian Church where you can look at the admissions book, which I think states the father's employment.
Do you know when that open day is? My Nanna was a member of Park Lane church when she was little. I'm not sure if she attended the school or not.
Park Lane Chapel is open to visitors every Thursday morning.. Stop by, talk the the Chapel historian, visit, have a cup of tea and some toast. You don't know what you may learn..
I'd say he looks more 10 yrs old. As a teacher I have a knack for knowing how old kids look ;)
You are probably right, and if so, I was right first time when I said 1915!
