Nice to see a photo of a friend from the mid fifties, Eric Long. He's been in Mexico since 1980 after going to watch England in the World Cup, married a local girl and settled there working as an accountant. He used to live in Manchester Road and his parents had a shop, just over the boundary line in Higher Ince.

Apologies, I meant to say the 1970 World Cup, this was the year it was held in Mexico, not 1980.

Just seen your comments, Ashley, thanks, now I know what happened to Eric - lost touch with him when he did his National Service in the RAF.

Hi Arthur, just to let you know that Eric pays the occasional visit to Wigan. It was perhaps last year when he was over last, his friend John Myers is one who I believe he may be in touch with, he lives near the Brockett Arms I believe.
