I was there in 1965. I remember a lot of the names on your list but didn't see what year you were talking about. I've been trawling through all of the photos on Wigan World to see if I can find myself!
I remember the fire in the back classroom, (Mrs Draper's class) the hearth was donkey stoned and snow white. I remember Mrs Draper telling off a lad for chewing bubble gum and making him throw it on the fire. The gum landed on the fire bars, melted and dripped down on to the donkey stoned hearth, Mrs Draper was not happy!
So surprised to hear someone remembers my name I was so shy and quiet. I'm never in photos and beginning to wonder if I attended school much!
