Are you sure it is your Rugby team? The reason I ask is that the Captain is holding a soccer ball and there appears to be a Goalkeeper on the back row. Plus there are only 12 players in the photo.
Why does the caption read All Saints School, then Rose Bridge rugby team, and how about some names.
Could they not afford rugby balls back then?
Back row extreme right in front of the guy who looks like Bill Sayer, I'm sore it's Jack Topping, ex councillor in Hindley.
Bye heck you could be right there Brian.
Mr Winstanley, headmaster back left.
Would that be Jack Topping that lived in Engineer St?
next to the G.K is Bob France, then Graham Winstanley,Terry Callaghan is 2nd r back row
Front row is John Fish ,Jimmy Smith, i dont know the next two then its Eddy Kinsley, and Laurence Chadwick
Mark Calter,I think you mean Graham Whittaker(not Winstanley)
Brian and Keith,I would be very surprised if that was Jack Topping. I sure I remember him going to Hindley & Abram Grammar School and Jack is too tall to be the boy on the picture.
Evelyn.
Look on schools in the Album contents, under Rose Bridge school, and you will see a photo of the 1957 Rose Bridge school prefects with Topping listed as a prefect. Granted it doesn't name him as Jack, but I'm pretty sure it's Jack.I meant to say sure in my last comments on this photo, pressed wrong key and it came out sore instead.
