My first walking day, actually carried round by my Aunty. The photo was taken in the backyard of my Grans No 14 Belle Green Lane looking down towards Annie Cappers. Ashursts pie shop and Sally Foys Chippy would have been just behind whoever took the photo

My Mam married Bill Smart who lived at no 8 Belle Green Lane. He was married before that to a lady named Ethel, sadly she passed away in 1972. I lived with them for a short while with my son Paul. Ashurst's shop was on one side and Sally lived on the other. She was a very nice lady.
