Looking at the wing collars, I assume that this was in 1920s

Hi Peter... You are stretching my memory a little bit now but I do recognise my Grandfather, Jim Mason, Jim Green, Peter Benson and I think, Tom Mason.

Would this family have any connection with the Masons who had some grocery shops in Ormskirk Road. l remember going to the one at the bottom of Almond Grove and taking my Mums "tick book". Great days those

Yes you're right. My parents used to own a shop on Spring Bank. My uncle owned a shop on the corner of Almond Grove

lm not sure but maybe the Mason family also had some connection to a bakery in Tunstall Lane. l can say without fear of contradiction those pies realy were scrumptious. mmmm
