Lovely photo of a bygone era. Would have been taken in the 1930's Katrina ? Wouldn't it be good to see it in colour...
What a lovely photo....I love their hats! I can recall having black patent ankle-strap shoes like two of the girls on the photo many years later than this, in the 1950s, as a little girl on walking day.

Beautiful memories for all those children.They loved walking days.Its so sad they have ended.

I remember having some white shoes for walking day with ankle straps, I think they were made from 'buckskin'.
