John Myers (Shared St/Bedford St) with his Daughter Vivien presumably at the start or finish of the walk? Did people really wear such dramatic hats and coats back then? just jeans and t shirts nowadays!

Adrian,this is St Catherine's Rec at the bottom of Lorne St.They walked both days Sat.and Sun.and this is where they finished,for refreshments and games.

Ho! and yes they did wear such dramatic hats and coats.This is the 1950's.They even went on the beach at Blackpool with a shirt and tie on.

Edna, I can remember my parents dressed up to the nines on Blackpool beach as late as 1968, I think peole started to relax more by the 70's.
