Service held behind St Pauls Church after the walking day late 1940s, Vicar at the time Rev. Taplin. Faces remembered on the photo Wilf Garner - Freddie Dickinson - The Ainscough Bros - Frank Bates - Alan Mason - Stan Slater & Billy Rothwell. Can anyone name anymore?

Does any church these days have such a dedicated collection of choristers', and altar servers, as can be seen on this photograph, plus parishioners? It certainly does make you think, regarding to the future.

Strange 'shadowy' area, top left in picture. I wonder what it is ?

The "strange shadowy area" is the back of the church.

Allison If your looking at this again, look back at recent additions for may queen goose green 1942, where your dad was auditioning for Watership Down. Also St Pauls goose green walking day going down to marus bridge, fifth in the choir from rear, Alans brother Norman(your uncle).

Thanks for the info George, it's so special to see any photos of my dad, he died in 1973 when I was only 11. The May Queen photo is outside what is now Edna Turners house, thanks again!
