Salter's Chemists was quite a new building then. My brother Colin lived in the adjoining row, next to Maggie Scott's Chippy.

Mellings had a shoe shop there prior to the new chemists. We used to do a Harry Worth in the window......Harry Worth? You young ones will have to ask yer mam!,

My friend Christine Shirley and I used to do a Harry Worth in that window too, Gerry! Then get a "six" of chips in a newspaper bag from Maggie Scott's chippy.
