Showing the Vulcan pub in the background. I lived just further up Hardybutts and can remember when the Vulcan was demolished, probably soon after this photo was taken. From L to R are (I think) :

The Vulcan was part and parcel of life of St.Patricks Parish . It was run for many years by Mary Horkan one of the great characters of the parish.it was then run by George Parker ,I can't recall if he was the last landlord .
