I remeber having rags put in my hair the night before walking day so that I would have nice wringlets with big ribbons in. My new white sandals hope they do not get tar on them from the road melting in the heat!! The ladies from Sunday scholl coming to our front door asking how much material I would need for my dress. My mum used to make all my dresses & dorothy bags for my pennies. Good memories. The hair at the back of my neck still stands up when I here any band. Cold winters and hot summers!!

Vivian are you the same girl that was in my class at St Catharine's and lived in Aspull before emigrationg to Australia in the late 70s? If so please let me know and have a look under St Catharine's infants and junior school in the Schools section. Trying to organise a class reunion!

I`m sure this photo is taken looking up towards st catherines school on the right hand side of the road with the spotted cow pub next door ( coming towards the camera ) I remember climbing over the playground wall to retrieve the wayward football
