love these pics jack, dont recognise anyone but i love to see them hope you have more jack.

THE CHIMNEY-POT SHOWN JUST OVER THE HEAD OF THE TALL YOUNG MAN WAS ON OUR HOUSE.

The young man on the left wearing the light suit looks just like John Boyd, who was in our class at the Cardinal Newman school. I could be wrong though....I often am!
By the way Irene, thank you for letting Maureen know my email address. The outcome of it was a telephone call during which she told me she "had a present" for me. Well naturally I took it to be THE vinegar bottle but it turned out to be much nicer than that. She had done an oil painting for me taken from a photograph I put on Wigan World's album a few weeks ago of my dog Henry in the snow. I was overwhelmed and it was lovely to meet Maureen and her husband Cliff. I may put the painting on Wigan World in the hope that no-one will mind!

You're welcome, Margaret. I wouldn't have given it if I thought you'd mind. I too thought it was the vinegar bottle, but Maureen told me what it was; wasn't it kind of her? Peter and I went in all the charity-shops on our recent visit to the War Weekend at Pickering, but no vinegar-bottle! But I did get a new 1940s hat; much more "40s" than the one I had on on photo-a-day.z

YES Margaret it is John Boyd my little brother in his very light suit,he did not like it he always said he looked like the White Tide man in it. Nice to see a photo from the past that I had not seen . Many Thanks

the lad on right looks like ronny macoll?and irene whats this about a vinigar bottle? is it an old type, i go in lots of charity shops let me know and i will look out.
