On Warrington Road, just past Repton Avenue - with the Post Office on the right. I'd like to use these in our magazine, if that's okay, John?

certainly i would be pleased if you did that.i used to be in the church lads brigade, and if you could call it,reserve in the choir.also had a few games with the football team.i am going to put some more on shortly.they are just passing my dads barbers shop,on the left hand side,of the road.

I'm told the girl in the light dress, with arms folded, on the right is Edna Holland... from which a date of around 1959 is suggested.

Very good photos John.If I remember correctly Sandra was a very good athlete, she used to win a lot of the races on school sports day.

I just had to show this to my mother. In her teens she lived in the house next door to the post office (the one with the modified window). When my grandmother moved out the post office owners bought it and knocked through to give them bigger living quarters.

Rev Long... the date must be late 60s or early 70s, the modification to the window only happened once my grandmother had moved out. I will have to check the exact year with my mother.

This photo of me was taken in 1965 or 1966 not too sure which but certainly no later. I lived next door but one to my friend John Daniels in Stafford St, Spring View and remember those days with fondness. This was probably one of the last time I walked with St. Mary's but I have many photos of previous walking days going back to the early 50's. I also think the girl with her arms folded is Linda Holland (lou lou) a year older than me at school.

Edith I remember you very well from Wigan Harriers and I am still in close touch with Gill.

Sandra, you are right it is Linda ( Lou Lou) holland we were courting when we were both at spring view .so sad about Linda .john your dad used to cut our hair me our Billy & Keith our dad used to say he was cheaper than mr Jevon's down road and he always put a clean bowl on our head to cut to.
