The two teachers in the photo are Miss Lawson (or Mrs Macdonald as she became) and Mrs Mulligan behind.

Irene, good luck in your quest to find that elusive photo of your old terraced houses on Wigan World.
I can't tell which side of the road this photo shows but this couldn't be THE ONE could it?!!

No Margaret. The row of houses stood back behind the wall of St. Willim's presbytery right opposite the Anderton Arms, ("Long Neck"), pub. The site is now incorporated into St. Willians school grounds. I know the deputy head, and a couple of years ago she allowed me onto the site.....there was a tree surrounded by a circular bench where our house stood. It was very emotional to stand on the spot again. Thanks for your good wishes.....I'll keep hoping!

Another great picture Margaret.
It was taken on Ince Green Lane ,heading towards Lower Ince before the Viaducts and Ince Station.
The shop in the background was Annie Dootsons.
