Church procession of some kind. Appears to be in the Standishgate area. I've not a clue as to what year it was taken.

More than likely members of St.Patrick's going towards the market square for the Whit Monday procession. They are coming from Crompton Street and are crossing Standishgate to Mesnes Street. The building opposite, Famous Army Stores was pulled down in about 1952/1953.
