The little boy looking at the camera is my late father-in-law Alan Waterhouse. They are just turning from Lily Lane into Warrington Road. The row of shops to the left stood just before the 'Platt Bridge' that crossed the Hay Brook.. and then into Abram. Straight on would be Templeton Road (the Tramlines).
Not too sure of the date, but look at that traffic light, and the old street signs.

It must be 1951. If you look at the other photos the lady has the same dress and shoes on (only a female would notice that).
