the co-op used to be were late shop is now

This, I believe, is Warrington Rd, between the junction with Lily Lane and the start of Walthew Lane.

Yes... in the background you can see the junctions of News Street (to the left), and Millers Lane (straight on), an Warrington Road (going off to the right).

Anyone remember the chippy on the corner of Millers Lane?

The chippy was owned by a Mrs. Rickets. (Not sure if spelling is correct.)

The building in the background used to be the head office for Platt Bridge Co-op I used to call there when I was a Sales Rep the manager once showed me around the offices upstairs (long since dissused) they were beautiful oak paneled rooms it was a good looking building and should never have been knocked down.
