The Picture Place on the right was owned and run by Ernie Bentham and family, they had a farm at the junction of Bradley Lane/Avondale Street. The sweet shop that was part of the cinema building was run by Hetty Charnock who (I think) lived in the first house on the right as one enters Market Street.

I'm sure that it was the picture house that my friend, Gwen Rainford and I watched burning down - am I right, did it burn down?
