Your comments are very interesting. In 1993 I was approached by management to go to Warrington to do the job you mention. At the same time I was approached by management to set up a new train Crew Depot at Wigan Wallgate which I accepted.

Just talking to my lad, Ian, about my days at Springs Branch. Wondering if anyone has a photo of me in a loco cab. I’m 89 years of age now and enjoying reminiscing about the good old railway days and the great blokes I worked with. Ernie
