Ron, according to a photo of a metal advertising sign on the Album the comments say it was on Princess Street and most likely it was the same building which later became Comet Electrical Store and then Wharf Mill Furniture Store and which was gutted by a fire some years ago. -

This jam works was indeed half way down Princess street opposite the labour club. My mother and two of her sisters worked there for many years.
I remember when I was small going there and the women would give us some of the fruit it tasted so much better than todays but that is just memory
So it wasn't the ancient building that became to be called Wharf Mill Furniture then Bill, I'd assumed it was that with a poster stating the factory later became a furniture store.
Yes Cyrill, when it finally closed it then became Wharf Mill Furniture.
The first firm to take the building over after its jam works days Was Berwick James Lowe, Princess Mill .
It was a furniture and carpet store. Under the same ownership it became a supermarket, it was a disaster and brought the firm to its knees. Wharf Will took it over after that.
