The Woolies Rail appears to have only been erected in the early 1950's as looking at the photos on here dated 1940's it isn't there. However it is there on Photo No. 1876 Standishgate page 2 and Photo No. 18924 page 5.

that first car is a Vauxhall velox ,my first loves dad had one brand new,i knew I would marry into money.
