It looks like a young John Lockhart 2nd from the left front row. When John was at the WGS he was called upon several times to sing solo. I recall one newspaper comment at the time. "A small boy and a large sheet of music"

Third choirman from the left is Francis Heath. who had been a boy chorister under Dr. Edward Bairstow, who left Wigan for Leeds Parish church in 1906. Frank was still singing very well when I joined the choir after returning to Wigan in 1967 to join the staff of Wigan Grammar School.
