Index was a catalogue shop owned by Littlewoods and opened a branch in Wigan in 1990 in the former Co-op supermarket premises in Marketgate Centre. Many people worked there over the years both as temps and permanent staff. It was a fairly friendly place to work. The shop was there until 2005 when Littlewoods closed down. Did you ever work at Index or shop there? Comments welcome.

Julie worked at Index a few years and her sister for a time. I see Julie fairly often around Wigan.

Hi Duncan really good to see these old pics haha I started working at Index in 1995 as a Christmas Temp and if i remember rightly you and Steve Smith trained me in the stockroom. My temporary job lasted right up until the last day of Index in 2005. I hope there are more photos to come !!

Same with me Chris, I started as a Xmas temp in 1990 and there till the shutters went down for the last time in July 2005.
