Good Lordy, so nice to see and put faces to names to twiglets off a branch, leading back to one owd lad (Benjamin) and owd lass (Ann) who really are responsible for establishing so many families, through their girls and boys. Am off the owd Benjamin myself - and how nice see others from another branch, those names I have had on record
for years. Thank you very much whoever you are Dave Allen.
During the war, Billy Melling had photos of all his sons in uniform posted in the shoe shop, he also had some of the relations in australia(or New Zealand) in their ANZAC uniforms. Billy's mother Margaret built the shop and houses at 94, 96, 98 and 100. Ben Rollins also kept the shop at one time. We took over the shop in 1946 after the war.
